How ArcelorMittal saved over 3% on its energy bill with AI?

Looking for opportunities to transform to Industry 4.0, the ArcelorMittal Belval site decided to launch a project dedicated to energy efficiency in 2018. The teams then called on Energiency and its artificial intelligence. In less than 2 years, the results exceeded initial expectations.

 

The steel leader was looking for technology that was easy to use for production, maintenance, and field operators. Technology that would allow them to analyze plant data and measure the impact of their actions on energy savings, all with a payback period of less than 2 years.

After several iterations of adjustments and updates of the model to always take into account new influencing parameters, real energy gains have been achieved: the ArcelorMittal Belval site has saved more than 3% on its energy bill since Energiency's support. These results exceed the initial objective of a 2% reduction and represent:

  • A saving of €150,000 on the annual energy bill,
  • A saving of 9 GWh on annual energy consumption.
