Industry 4.0

How did Naval Group identify and correct the energy drifts of its plant in Nantes thanks to AI?

In 2018, Naval Group decided to launch a new energy performance plan to continue its digital transformation towards Factory 4.0. Real-time monitoring, reduction of energy consumption, reduction of the carbon footprint and detection of new decarbonized energy sources: these are the energy efficiency challenges that the French industrial group has targeted.

Thanks to Energiency's artificial intelligence, Naval Group was able to identify the sources of energy loss on its site. The real-time energy management software allows the company to understand the influencing factors that affect consumption and to implement new energy savings with specific actions.

"All these drifts and latency periods... It was no longer possible," says Nicolas Pomariega, Energy and Environment Manager at Naval Group. Manual meter readings, use of an Excel spreadsheet to enter data: the methodology previously used by the group produced a one-month delay in the analysis of the plant's data. This delay was not compatible with the search for sources of overconsumption.

Discover in this success story the different steps of the energy performance project implemented by Energiency and its French partner Akajoule, leading to the deployment of a mature and efficient energy monitoring system on the Naval Group site in Nantes.
